Record high attendance in Gothia Innebandy CupGothia Innebandy Cup is one month away and 2018 will break the record in attendance. More teams than ever before will be participating in the 25th edition of the tournament.
“It is exhilarating that the massive interest remains,” says Tournament Director Lena Rönnefors.
Gothia Innebandy Cup kick starts, as usual, the new year with a floorball festivity across all of Gothenburg. In 2018, the tournament is played January 4-7 and a record-breaking number of 457 teams are registered. The international interest is stronger than ever with almost a quarter of foreign teams. Both the Czech Republic as well as Norway and Denmark come with a record number of teams.
“Sweden generally has a very high reputation in these countries and it is of course fun with such strong international representation,” says Lena Rönnefors.
1,430 matches will be played on 28 indoor courts around Gothenburg during the four tournament days.
“With our five-team groups, there will be lots of floorball among teams that usually don’t meet. It feels great to be able to offer our teams a weekend with so many matches,” says Lena Rönnefors.
