11.00 Girls 12 (Playoff A) Lindome IBK – Pixbo Wallenstam
Pixbo Wallenstam are the champions of Gothia Innebandy Cup 2017 in Girls 12 category. After winning 5-0 against Lindome IBK, they can give themselves the prestigious trophy. Nothing stopped the team this tournament.
It was Pixbo Wallenstam who started the game best, the team hade a big pressure on their opponents. Lindome gave themselves a big try by using quick counter attacks. It was clear, that the final had brought the best teams. However, the people in the stands could se a little bit of nervousness at the both teams. The big risks was not taken, the teams played more “safe than sorry”.
The team that started the final best was also the team that opened the score. Pixbo Wallenstams Linn Hellman was founded at the front of the goal and could easily give herself and her team the lead.
Pixbo Wallenstam kept pressure and high pace in the game and a few minutes later, they also extended their lead by scoring 2-0. The goalscorer was Lina Evheden.
In the second period Pixbo Wallenstam extended their lead once again. Olivia Karlberg scored 3-0 just a minute into the second period. Lindome tried to reduce Pixbos big lead, but they didn’t have the ability this final. After nine minutes into the 2nd period, Lina Evheden scored 4-0 to Pixbo Wallenstam and it was a impressive individual performance. Pixbo also scored their fifth goal before the final whistle. It was Pixbo Wallenstam’s day equally as their tournament. Nothing could stop the team from winning Gothia Innebandu Cup 2017.

12.10 Boys 12 (Playoff A ) CL98IC – IBK Alingsås
IBK Alingsås are champions of Gothia Innebandy Cup after winning 5-2 (after penalties against CL98IC.) After 40 minutes played the games was tight with the score 2-2. Alingsås showed in the shootout most confidence by scoring three of four penalties.
However, CL98IC gave themselves the best start when they opened the score only five seconds into the game. Lukas Nordén was extremely opportunistic when he ran through the Alingsås defense and scored the first goal of the game.
However, Alingsås woke up after the early goal and could equalize after seven minutes. Theo Arsic scored the equalizer, and it was a dramatic and thrilling game in Gothia Arena where the crowd nearly couldn’t fit on the stands.
CL98IC should retake the lead ten minutes after IBK Alingsås equalizer and yet again it was Lukas Nordén who scored after a nice shot wrist shot.
The first period was an exciting one, where CL98IC went to water break by leading 2-1. The exciting final continued in the same way in the second period. After three minutes took the referees the decision to give Alingsås a penalty shout. Albin Hägglund was cold as ice when he took advantage of the penalty shout and equalized for his team to 2-2. The game continued with high pace and many challenges. The both teams was going for the potential winning goal. Penalties for both teams made it even more exciting the last five minutes of the game.
Even if the goal opportunities was clear, the both teams could find a way to score a winning goal. The final had to end with penalty shots.
And it was IBK Alingsås who showed most confidence in the shootouts by scoring three of four goals. CL98IC missed their penalties, and couldn’t manage to secure the title.
Instead, the title went to IBK Alingsås.
Congratulations IBK Alingsås to the trophy and also congratulations to CL98IC on a well performed tournament.

13.20 Boys 13 (Playoff A ) Hovslätts IK – IBK Höllviken
Hovslätts IK are champions of Gothia Innebandy Cup 2017. That was confirmed after a solid game by the team in red.
The final between Hovslätts IK and IBK Höllviken wasn’t that breezy as previous one. The both teams started a little bit awaiting and you could see that they were knowing each others strengths and weaknesses. Besides Hovslätts first goal in the final by Melwin Knuthas, the scoring opportunities was easily counted. After Hovslätts goal, the final continued to be a closed and tight one. The teams controlled the game and waited for their opponent to show weakness or doing mistakes.
IBK Höllviken kept pressure and continued to chase an equalizer, but the defence of Hovslätts IK was solid and impressive. In a thrilling last minute of the game, they stopped every chance that Höllviken created and could win the game by scoring just one goal. But that’s enough when you don’t conceed any goal, right?
Solid defense through the tournament and in the final give Hovslätts IK the title and they could from now name themselves champions of Gothia Innebandy Cup.
The MVP award went to Hovslätts IKs Melwin Knuthas.
14.30 Girls 15 (Playoff A) Ale IBF – FBC Kalmarsund
An impressive comeback by the girls in FBC Kalmarsund could secure their title in this years edition of Gothia Innebandy Cup. After being 1-3 down after first period, they showed quality and confidence when they came back and won 5-3.
It didn’t start well for FBC Kalmarsund who conceded two early goal. Even more teasingly when the goals just passed the goal line with a few inches. But, FBC Kalmarsund showed patient and quality by using a lot of possession and always being a threat to Ale IBF. They reduced Ale’s lead by scoring 2-1 with a few seconds left of the first period. However, Jonna Karlsson in Ale IBF just seconds after the goal extended Ale’s lead when she directly after face off made an impressive solo performance.
Mentally important goal for Ale IBF? – Well, not this time.
The second period was completely a one team show. When FBC Kalmarsund reduced Ale’s lead once again early in the 2nd period, it meant a start of an goal explosion.
The equalizer came just a few minutes after, and it was Amanda Lind who was the big director of the goal madness. When FBC Kalmarsund scored 4 and 5-3, it meant that the comeback was done and also an extending to secure the lead. Nothing could stop Kalmarsund in the 2nd period and the team could win the final by the result 5-3.
An impressive comeback from a strong team machine. FBC showed themselves and the opponents that this year was their turn to lift the trophy. Congratulations FBC Kalmarsund on winning Gothia Innebandy Cup 2017.
